Paper roll with a width of 28.7 cm wound around a flangeless cardboard core. A wooden guide block is glued to the inner side of the core. The roll contains program perforation, which is a coded record of a sequence of control actions on a musical instrument to play a melody. The leading end of the roll has a triangular cut with the tip covered in leatherette and fitted with a metal half-ring. Near the leading end, a framed paper label is glued to the inner side of the roll, listing the titles of fifteen popular foreign variety musical pieces. Arrangements of the following melodies are encoded on the music roll:
