A gold snuff box of oval form on scalloped base, featuring a hinged lid. The slightly convex sides of the box are decorated with a border of stylized foliate and geometric patterns. The base is adorned with a floral composition framed by C-scrolls and foliage. Inset into the lid is an oval portrait miniature of Tsar Ferdinand I of Bulgaria, framed within an overlapping double-circle border set with diamonds and flanked by stars on either side. Housed in its original red morocco leather case, the lid stamped in gold with the Bulgarian royal crown.
