An interior scene is depicted on a rectangular, vertically oriented sheet with rounded corners. A bearded man in a tailcoat approaches a general standing by a table in a polite posture, holding a sheet of paper. Palace attendants are shown to their right and left. In the upper center of the sheet, the series title is written in black ink: “FÊTE À LA COUR” (translated from French as: Court Celebrations). Below it, there is an inscription in French and Russian: “Les menus. // ‘Dearest Colonel, may I inquire...’ // ‘Please, leave me alone!’ ”
The author's signature and date are located in the lower-left corner: Зichy 89.
