An episode from the Battle of Oltenitza is depicted on a rectangular, vertically oriented sheet. During the battle, an officer of the Selenginsk Infantry Regiment, shown in the center in a reclining position, was wounded by a shell and severely shell-shocked, but did not let go of the regiment banner. Officers are depicted to his right and left, persuading him to surrender the banner. Figures of soldiers are sketched in the background.
